Hamstring help.

Calling all you runners. I have been training harder now than I ever have before. First I went from running 3 miles about 3 times a week (sporadic) to diligently running 2-3 miles 6 days a week. At first it was 30 minutes, now it is 45. I also added a workout dvd 3 times a week.

Here is my problem. There is something going on with my right leg. The hamstring has felt tight and tense for 3 days now. It isn’t actually painful. Just feels sore when I get up from my chair etc. I have stretched, hydrated and had a hot bath.

Any ideas? Please don’t tell me I’m over training. That’s not what I want to hear.

*edit - I lost 5lbs this week at my weigh in! So I do not want to stop.

  2. ashamedtosay said: Ok, but you are overtraining, and that is what is going on, which is why we add miles gradually. I would go for a massage and look at rolling it out on a foam roller. Be sure to stretch every time you run.
